ACTOR Congratulates Carl Pankratz
One of our very own actors has achieved a council seat, place number 3. He was sworn in yesterday, July 5th at 7:30pm in City Hall.

1951 Radio Show
The Rowlett Historical Society had their meeting on January 17, 2011. ACTOR presented the radio show "The Bickerson's"
Everything went fairly smooth except for Eric. He had some problems with the sound effects. Eric was quoted as saying "I think I'm having a Lyle moment."
Everyone in the audience seemed to enjoy the show. The program lasted about 30 - 40 minutes.

Bill Cannon
On Christmas eve we delivered a signed copy of the radio show cast to Mr. Bill Cannon. Bill was the one who gave ACTOR a stack of old radio show tapes. Bill is a writer and has some books published. Check them out here: Bill's Books

December Radio Show
Merry Christmas!
ACTOR did it's first radio show for December at Christian Care Center. We had two performances. One for the Alzheimer's patients and another show for the assisted living.
At the end of our last show, we had a man in a wheel-chair wheel over to us and he asked us if we would like some old radio shows that he had in his room. We said sure! Five minutes later he came back with a case filled with old recordings.
It really touched us. Giving something he had as a gift to us. So what ACTOR decided to do was take this picture (the insert) and print it up and autograph it for him and give it as a gift.
This has been a great experience. Look forward to this Wednesday for another show!

Thank you for your votes on the Christmas play! Due to a tie in the poll and to time constraints, ACTOR is doing something different this year.
We are presenting a traveling 1940's radio show. In this way we can give back to the community. So, if you have an organization (with a stage) and want a Christmas radio show for a fundraiser or just for fun, we will perform for you for no charge.

"A Christmas Story" By Jean Shepherd
Synopsis: Humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the midwest of the 1940's follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself, at Goldblatt's Department Store. The Consistent response: "You'll shoot your eye out." All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys' experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie's father winning a lamp shaped like a woman's leg in a net stocking; Ralphie's fantasy scenarios and more.
"Trapped By A Treacherous Twin or Double Trouble" By Charles Randall & Joan Bushnell
Synopsis: This lively melodrama has a unique device to delight both cast and audience. The stalwart hero and the fiendish villain are identical twins played by the same actor. An actor's dream! Christmas morning finds their mother, Grace Haverford, sharing confidences with the portrait of her husband, Hubert, who mysteriously vanished one year ago today. It's also the birthday of Noel and Yule - the identical twins - who are as different as, well, as hero and villain! Each of the brothers is smitten with the beauty and virtue of Sadie Rose, Grace Haverford's newly-engaged resident secretary. The twins' rivalry becomes even more intense as each accuses the other of complicity in the disappearance of a large sum of money from the family-owned bank. A cloud of doom hangs over the once-proud Haverford Manor. Virtue, however, triumphs at last with the support of April Haverford, the spirited young sister and her comical but capable suitor, Clarence Collingsworth. End of "A Date With Judy"
ACTOR's presentation of "A Date With Judy" has finally come to a close. Opening night was a packed house. Our audience was very generous with their laughter. We even had a couple share their 55th wedding anniversary with us. We were honored!
Thank you to everyone who came out to see our little play. We always hope we brightened your weekend.
On a personal note, to the actors of "A Date With Judy": You guys are my family. I had a blast!
